The holiday season can get quite expensive with all the parties and treats and wanting to give gifts that are thoughtful to our loved ones! Take a look at Oona for fun, useful gifts that are made with care and are built to last!
Something I often get asked is “How long does it take to make one of: (name your style)?”. Truthfully, I generally don’t know because I only make one of something the first time when I’m making a sample and then I apply batch work methods to production – and then I forget how long the first one ever took! Batch work and efficiency along with many years of fine-tuning my skills allows me to be able to keep my production timelines sharp and that then translates to an affordable retail price to the customer which is a goal I strive for.
Many folks are more and more interested in shopping locally and supporting makers rather than large corporations which take advantage of the cheap cost (and often quality) of mass production overseas, resulting in the exploitation of and harm to factory workers, not to mention great destruction to many of our earth’s land and natural resources.
Unfortunately, it’s getting more and more difficult to pay for what needs to be paid for, so for those who want to shop locally but are faced with tough decisions I try my best to give good options, all the way down to locally made underpants!
Fast fashion presents a lot of issues for many but the cost of living can sometimes force people to have to choose against what they’d prefer. One of the objectives of Oona is to give more choices to folks who want to make decisions they feel good about while staying within their budget. It’s very important to me that Oona products are as accessible to as many people as possible.
